Vikings Clean House! It’s time for a change

Change is inevitable for all of us.

As many of you know through my emails or social media sites, I had a chance to hang with Case Kennum. If only for a brief moment during a visit when he was with the St. Louis Rams a few years back. I also tried my hand at helping him find a place to live when he first landed in Minnesota. you might be thinking, “Who Cares!”

I can tell you, “I care.” Because once you get to know someone, shake their hand and hear their story… Like I do every week on my podcast. You get a brief glimpse into their world, their soul and what they are all about. Most of us call this a “First Impression.”

My first impression of Case, “He is a really good dude!” I will never forget the smile on his face and how he genuinely shook my hand, gave a high-five to my kids and was more than willing to take pictures or whatever we wanted. I remember talking with Case when I was trying to help him find a home in a new land, Minnesota. Imagine moving from city to city. Year after year… Never knowing anyone. Always searching for a home. A place you can fit in. He was really excited about Minnesota. One year later… Everything changed.

Like in sport, business is much the same when it comes to change. One day you are on top of the world. You feel like you have everything figured out. The next you are packing up one idea and moving onto the next. As an entrepreneur I know all too well how Case feels. Right when you thought you had everything figured out, at the top of your game, the market shifts and the unexpected happens. It’s in these moments when one’s character is tested.

You can’t help but ask yourself, “What could I have done differently to change this outcome?”

It’s in moments like this when those with real character succeed. I believe everything happens for a reason. We are all tested in the game of life. No matter if you are a professional football player like Case, an entrepreneur like me, a coach, a teacher, a parent or a child. Life will test your character.

If I know anything about Case… He will never quit. He believes in himself like very few people I have ever met. This belief is what has and will carry him through to victory. I know it.

Like Case, we all need to believe in ourselves when everything around us is changing. We all need to believe there is a purpose we must fulfill before our time on this earth is over. For finding and achieving such a purpose — is the only reason we are here.

Thank you Case! Thank you for inspiring us to never quit. To never stop dreaming and always believe in ourselves not mater the circumstances.

One day. Your prayers will be answered. One day you will know why everything happened the way it did.

Until then.

Keep moving forward.
