How You choose will define the rest of your life.

I want to paint a picture for you. A picture that is cemented in my mind at this very moment.

“Imagine you are sitting on a park bench in one of the most beautiful parks you can dream of. Big green trees blowing in the wind. Dark green grass that feels like the softest of carpets. Beautiful red, yellow and pink roses all around you. With a large water fountain and kids playing.”

As I sit on the bench and look deeper into the park… I find myself staring at a fork in the road.

One path leading to the Left for as far as the eye can see.

For all I can tell, this path leads to another beautiful park that might be as good or even better than the one I am enjoying today.

The other path, leads to the Right… Into a tunnel. It looks dark and I can’t tell where it will go.

All I know, I must choose which path to follow.”

It’s in this moment, this picture of choice, where I get to decide how my brother’s death… will define my life.

It’s in this defining moment where my life will go one of two ways.

Which will I choose?

If you have followed me for any length of time… I think you know which choice I have made.

Over my 42 years of life I have found making hard decisions to be life changing.

We can’t take back the choices we have made in the past.

We can only focus on making the best choices we can today.

Life is simple, it’s about choices.

Each choice leads you down a different path.

Usually, those paths lead to extremly different worlds.

I have found the hardest path to walk is the one less traveled.

The one where negatives are turned into positives.

The one where sorrow turns into hope, inspiration and ambition to change.

Because, in my mind, positive change is what life is all about.

The pain is my fuel.

A never ending reminder of why I do what I do.
